There are no prerequisites for FMS Level 1 certification. You must take FMS Level 1 before or in combination with FMS Level 2. The FMS Level 1 course is intended for, but not limited to, fitness, performance and rehabilitation professionals.

FMS Level 1 – We have made the FMS Level 1 Online Course available to all past FMS Level 1 attendees who are active certified members. To review the FMS Level 1 Online Course please visit the "My Courses” section of your account.

FMS Level 2 - We offer course auditing for past FMS Level 2 attendees who are active certified members (US & Canada courses only).  Audit registration becomes available within the event registration page when logged into your Certified Member account. CEU approval varies by organization. For further information regarding continuing education approval please visit our FMS Courses page, navigate to the course of your choice and select "CEU Information".

Anyone may take the SFMA Level 1 – Online Prerequisite Course or attend the SFMA Level 1 Live Seminar. However, SFMA certification eligibility requirements state that you are currently a healthcare practitioner who is licensed to assess, diagnosis, and manually treat patients with musculoskeletal pain and/or an Allied Healthcare Professional. Typical professions in attendance at a SFMA seminar include but are not limited to Certified Athletic Trainers,Physical Therapists,  Chiropractors, Osteopaths, and Medical Doctors.

Yes. Your SFMA Level 1 Course registration fee includes access to the Online Prerequisite Course. This course is made available immediately after registration online through your account on FunctionalMovement.com. Attendees are expected to review the SFMA Level 1 – Online Prerequisite Course prior to attending the live SFMA Level 1 Seminar.

Yes. If you have previously purchased the SFMA Level 1 – Online Prerequisite Course ($645.00), this fee is automatically deducted from your live SFMA Level 1 seminar registration.

* TPI Medical level 2 attendees (attendance prior to May 6, 2015) are eligible to audit a live event. After May 6, 2015, only TPI Medical Level 3 attendees are eligible to audit a live event.

Due to the immediate delivery of online education the purchase of online education is non-refundable. Live event fees are non-refundable within 14 days of the live event, but live event fees may be applied to a future event within the following year. If cancelled before 14 days, the live event fee is 100% refundable. In the unlikely event the seminar sponsor and/or host must cancel an event in its entirety, registrants may choose to receive a refund of paid event fees or credit toward a future event within the following year.

While reasonable efforts will be made to adhere to the advertised package, the seminar sponsor and/or host reserves the right to substitute alternate speakers and/or event content from those listed.

We offer a 10% discount for groups of 5-9 people and a 15% discount for groups of 10 or more people. Group discounts require one payment for the entire group. To get started with your group registrations please contact support@functionalmovement.com.

We offer student discounts for the FMS Level 1 Online course and SFMA courses. Please contact support@functionalmovement.com to verify your current student status (valid student ID) to receive a student discount

We offer a military discount for all courses, please contact support@functionalmovement.com to register for a course with a military discount.

Our FMS Level 1, FMS Level 2 (FMS Level 1 prerequisite required), SFMA Level 1, and Y Balance courses currently include certification exams. We also offer a exam for our SFMA Level 1 - Online Prerequisite Course (exam does not affect certification)

All certification exams are made available online within your account. Certification exams are made available to live seminar attendees after completion of the event. Exams are made available to online course participants immediately after course purchases.

FMS Level 1: 60 multiple choice questions including video questions

FMS Level 2: 60 multiple choice questions

SFMA Level 1: 40 multiple choice questions

Y Balance: 34 multiple choice questions

A score of 80.00% or higher is required to pass each exam.

Three attempts are made available for all certification exams. Please note that your answers will be saved automatically as you move through the test. This will allow you to stop and start the test as necessary.

Once you have passed your exam (80% of higher) you will be notified immediately of your certification. Certificates are distributed electronically to your email address associated with your account. You may also access your certificate at any time here.

To become a certified member you must be FMS Level 1 Certified or SFMA Level 1 Certified.
